This page describes the VaultTail website at vaulttail.com. The Windows app has its own app privacy policy. Visiting this website does not give it access to the folders or USB drives on your computer.

Hosting and basic traffic statistics

Cloudflare hosts and delivers this website and processes connection information, such as IP addresses and request details, to serve and protect it. Cloudflare Web Analytics may also provide basic traffic and page performance statistics. These hosting services are separate from the optional Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity integrations described below. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Optional usage analytics

When enabled, Google Analytics helps us understand where visits come from and which parts of the website people use. We measure page views, scrolling, demonstration interactions, FAQ openings, and clicks to Microsoft Store. A Store click is not a confirmed installation or purchase.

When enabled, Microsoft Clarity creates heatmaps and session recordings of interactions with this website, such as clicks and scrolling. Recordings concern this web page, not your desktop, USB contents, or activity inside the VaultTail Windows app.

These optional integrations load only after you choose Allow analytics. They may process page URLs, referrer information, browser and device details, approximate location, and usage events, and use cookies to recognize visits. Advertising storage, advertising personalization, and Google Signals are disabled in our integration. Do not put personal information in campaign links.

For the providers’ processing practices and controls, see Google’s privacy policy, Microsoft’s privacy statement, and Clarity privacy information. Retention and service controls depend on the provider and project settings.

Changing your choice

You can reject optional analytics and still use the website. When optional analytics is configured, Cookie settings below and in the home page footer lets you change your choice. We keep the choice in your browser’s local storage for up to 180 days. Rejecting after an earlier acceptance stops optional collection on this site, clears the accessible analytics cookies, and reloads the page. It does not automatically erase information already sent to a provider.

Support and external links

If you email us, we receive the address and information you include so we can respond. Please do not send passwords or private backup files. Microsoft Store and other linked services have their own privacy practices.
